The Old Barn is available for private hire
Just under the Kelston Clump landmark, on the Cotswold Way, the Old Barn offers a secure quiet space with access to walks, nature, and quite extraordinary views (see photos).
Set up as a workspace and bunkhouse, with a large open hall, a smaller sofa room, two loos, two showers and catering facilities, it is a quiet rural location suited to celebration, reflection, creative and artistic purposes (see floorplan).
Weddings – If you’re planning to get married note it is not a officially approved location for holding civil marriages or partnerships. If you want to arrange your celebration at the Old Barn we recommend you use do so via a professional wedding organiser. We can recommend Wild Fork West who provide excellent all-in-one service at a good price, and specialise in locally sourced food.
Kelston village 15 minutes’ walk away has an excellent pub (The Old Crown, under new management with a terrific chef), the award-winning Bath Soft Cheese dairy with shop and cafe. It’s also where the WC was invented as early as the 1590s by the Elizabethan satJohn “Jaques” Harrington.
The Old Barn is a £12 cab ride from Bath Spa station, which is 90 mins from London Paddington (see location below). For directions see here.
Internal floor space is 132 sq m. Courtyard area is 360 sq m approx. You can download a floor plan for the Old Barn here.

Please apply for details.
We can also provide
- cleaning and janitorial services (at cost)
- diesel generator £8/hour
- Mifi for up to five devices.
There is a deposit, refundable when payment has been received, it’s confirmed there is no damage or litter, and no complaint from neighbours or farmers about noise or disruption.
“Two for one” arrangement
We’d like to help suitable groups – such as schools, scouts, NGOs, charities – which want to use the Old Barn but find the basic cost prohibitive. We therefore operate a “two for one” policy: for each booking at standard cost one concessionary group is also invited to use the facilities (covering just generator and any cleaning charges).
So if you pay the basic cost you can help a concessionary group use the facilities also. And if you need the concessionary price and are able to refer a suitable normal booking then problem solved.
